Welcome Oxford Isis Korfball Club was set up in 2007. We are looking to recruit people who are new to Korfball, so if you haven't played before, don't worry, there are other beginners too. All you need is to be able to run round a bit, and some hand/eye coordination is useful as well. Anyone who has played sports before can easily pick up the game.
We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, Reading & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.
You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and various abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.
Want to find out more or give it a go? Come to your first two sessions for FREE! Click HERE for directions to where we practice, and HERE to contact us for more information.

Oxford Isis are sending two teams to Gloucester this Saturday to play at the second annual outdoor tournament organized by Gloucester Lions KC. After the successful indoor season we are confident that we can improve last year's result which was 10th place. Keep your fingers crossed! UPDATE: Both teams played very well, having both experienced players and beginners mixed together. After a great day of sunshine Isis 1 ended up 10th and Isis 2 ended up 13th (however, Isis 2 should end up 5th-8th if an administrative error didn't occur after the first three matches). Very well done! |

Despite vocal support and an early 5 - 1 lead, Isis 1 were unable to overcome division 1 champions MK Bucks, and ended runners up 13 - 9 in the OKA cup final. After a very narrow golden goal semi-final win over Oxford City 2, Isis 1 needed a good start against Bucks to have any chance of winning. 5 - 1 up after 10 minutes counted as a good start, but Bucks slowly clawed back into the game to reach half time one goal ahead. A quick Isis goal after the break might have signalled a repeat of the first half, but then Bucks moved into a clear lead to take the cup. |

Isis 2 took the OKA division 2 title recently with a final match win over Oxford City 2. Going into the match either team could win the title, but Isis 2 won by 10 - 6 leaving them three points clear of City 2 who finished the season ahead of MK City in 3rd place. Isis 1 finished the season in the top pool of 4 teams in division 1. They were 4th in the top pool, equalling last season's position. |
