Welcome Oxford Isis Korfball Club is a brand new club set up in 2007. We are looking to recruit people who are new to Korfball, so if you haven't played before, don't worry, there are other beginners too. All you need is to be able to run round a bit, and some hand/eye coordination is useful as well. Anyone who has played sports before can easily pick up the game.
We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, Reading & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.
You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and various abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.
Want to find out more or give it a go? Come to your first two sessions for FREE! Click HERE for directions to where we practice, and HERE to contact us for more information.

Isis 1 have won one and lost one so far, The loss against Abingdon was only by a couple of goals which is encouraging. Isis 2 won their first game against Abingdon 2. Some excellent long shots saw Isis 2 pull away from Abingdon in the second half. Isis 3 had an excellent start, beating Didcot, but due to a shortage of available players the game was defaulted as too many players were playing down from other teams. However, with the first teamers playing in assisting roles the newer team members played a great game which was exciting to watch, with Didcot drawing level several times, but each time Isis pulling ahead. |

No experience needed, come along and try out a new sport for free! We will be training at the Botley football club ground on the Fogwell road from 7pm to 8.30pm. We train at Fogwell every Tuesday evening during the summer, then train indoors over the winter season at Matthew Arnold school (also on Tuesdays from 7 to 8.30pm). If you received a leaflet, please come along and join other beginners for a special training session where there will be plenty of other people who've never tried Korfball before. The emphasis will be on a relaxed and fun session that will introduce you to Korfball ! All you need are trainers or Astros and some tracksuit bottoms or similar loose fitting clothes so you can run/jog around during the session. |
