Welcome Oxford Isis Korfball Club is a brand new club set up in 2007. We are looking to recruit people who are new to Korfball, so if you haven't played before, don't worry, there are other beginners too. All you need is to be able to run round a bit, and some hand/eye coordination is useful as well. Anyone who has played sports before can easily pick up the game.
We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, Reading & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.
You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and various abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.

Isis 1 win 8 - 6 against Reading 1
Isis started slowly, conceding two quick goals, but then fought back to end the first half with the score at 5 - 3 to Reading. The second half started much better, with two quick goals from Isis to bring the scores level. The teams were then evenly matched for about 10 minutes, with no change of score until Isis scored twice to pull ahead. Isis then scored again to go three up, but Reading immediately replied to make it 8 - 6. The last few minutes were tense, but with a two goal cushion and now playing well, Isis won their first OKA league game! |
