Welcome Oxford Isis Korfball Club is a brand new club set up in 2007. We are looking to recruit people who are new to Korfball, so if you haven't played before, don't worry, there are other beginners too. All you need is to be able to run round a bit, and some hand/eye coordination is useful as well. Anyone who has played sports before can easily pick up the game.
We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, Reading & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.
You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and various abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.

Isis had a long trip from Botley in West Oxford down to the Cowley Rd for Oxford City's tournament ! It was our first ever summer tournament, and we started with a win which was great. Then we had a match against a scratch team that didn't go so well, and wit a few seconds left hte scores were level. A penalty was awarded and the hooter immediately followed. A pressure penalty for Dom, but he scored to makes it two wins from two. The final pool match was against Bec, and Isis were outplayed, leaving us second in the group at the half way stage. The afternoon pool saw an OKA get togther, with Isis playing MK, Uni, and Abingdon. Things didn't go so well in the afternoon, with losses to MK and Uni, but we finished with a draw against Abingdon. Overall we came joint 7th from 16, so a pretty good result overall.
