Oxford City Korfball Club was set up in 1992 and has become the biggest club in Oxfordshire with three teams and around 30 regular players. We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.

Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly. Oxford City players Tino and Jo joined BBC radio Oxford's Saturday morning show to promote Oxfordshire Korfball.
Anyone awake at 8.15 this morning would have heard Tino and Jo introducing Korfball to BBC radio Oxford's listeners. They chatted with the Breakfast show's host, and talked about the history of Korfball, as well as Korfball in Oxfordshire. If you missed it, you can listen to the interview by clicking here.
If you heard about Korfball on the radio this morning, the best way to find out more is to read the Korfball FAQ (via the menu on the left side of this page), and then just come along to one of our practice nights. Details of where and when we practice are also on the left-hand menu. We normally practice every Thursday starting at 6.30pm. Up to date details on upcoming Korfball dates and times are in a previous posting on the website's front page.
