City 1 pulled away from Basingstoke to win by 12 - 8 the weekend before last, which meant there was no danger of relegation if they lost the final Division 1 league match against MK. 

The away match in Milton Keynes started badly for City, going 7 to 0 down after a pretty short space of time. After that it was always going to be a struggle, and despite a much improved second half performance City ended up losing 17 to 7
