Sun, Cider, and some Korfball
Early wins against Bristol Uni and Cardiff City were a good start, but then two tough games were lost against eventual winners Cardiff Dragons and eventual runners up Pure Magic. So, City ended the morning 3rd in their pool of 5. The afternoon games were in a pool of four playing for 9th to 12th, and Oxford were playing against Bristol City, Keele and Reading. City started with a win against Bristol, followed by a draw with Keele. Winning against Reading would place City 9th out of the 18 teams, but Reading played well, taking the lead, and despite City drawing level, Reading scored again to win the game 2 - 1. Reading and Oxford finished level on points, but with Keele beating Reading, a better goal difference meant Oxford were placed in 10th and Reading in 11th. So in the first game between the two OKA clubs, Reading have come out ahead. Dave and Gav must be feeling a little guilty playing for Reading against Oxford!! Thanks to Bristol for organising an excellent day of Korfball. |
