Oxford City Korfball Club was set up in 1992 and has become the biggest club in Oxfordshire with three teams and around 30 regular players. We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.

You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.

Summer Tournaments

Looking for something to do at the weekend? As mentioned at training here is the email containing the list of Tournaments we are looking to enter. You may notice that as well as the ‘high’ level of Korfball that will be played there is a big focus on the social side!!!! May 17^th Oxford City Tournament – Well we’ve got to!!! 2 Teams if possible!!! May 31^st Gloucester Tournament – Gloucester are a new team and have a great looking social organised including BBQ and Beer. Camping is available!!! June 7^th Bristol Tournament – Sunshine 100% available according to Beth (from Bristol KC) last year was great and the beer and cider flowed well at the social!! Camping also available!! (we even got bacon buttys in the morning) June 29^th Croydon Tournament – New tournament for Ox City this year, but I’ve been before and it’s a great venue and will have lots of London teams we’ve never played before! (No camping) July 12^th Milton Keynes Tournament – It’s on astro turf!!! Remember to bring your boots!! Bouncy castle and other fun stuff available, no camping nor social (that I know of!) July 19^th Counties - Just a date for your diary the OKA will be organising this! August 9^th Sandwich Beach Tournament – Korfball on a beach, only one post on half a pitch, only 1 division needed. See the photos and videos on the OCKC website for pictures, videos etc etc. No camping but other teams do stay in hostels etc. Social. Or if you don’t fancy a Sandwich! August 9^th Nottingham Tournament – A long standing tournament with a good number of teams and a fancy dress social (which does have to be seen to be believed!) Camping, BBQ and social. All the tournaments consist of ‘pool games’ about 20 mins long then either knock outs or a second round of pool games against people who finished in a similar position to you in the morning. All entry fees to the tournaments are included in your membership!!! But you have to pay for your own beer!!!! Or win it in the raffle. Oh and you don’t have to stay over for the social but it is highly recommended!!!
